3RF CSA 2011

Think spring. Feel the warmth and the return of the light. Remember the smell of moist earth and daffodils. See the honeybees flitting amongst the dandelions. It will be here soon!

The Garden in Summer

Now is the time to reserve your place at Three Roods Farm CSA.  Greg has gone through all of last year’s seeds and ordered what we need for this year. We know what we’re going to plant. But we don’t know for whom we’re planting! We are here to serve our community, to build our community. Our joy is in getting to know you, our neighbors, as we grow the food we’ll all be sharing.

The cost of a share is $600, the same as its been for the past 3 years. 1/2 shares are $300.  This gives you 20 weeks of tasty, fresh, local, organically grown vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. While some CSAs may not require you to come to the farm, we believe that the connections between the farm family and the farm members are vital to the establishment of strong community ties.  Children need to hear the sounds of the rooster and the goldfinch as they harvest fruit on a sunny morning. It restores us all to health when we participate together in the cultivation of our food. For many families, Saturday morning harvests are a time to enjoy each other.  A complete list of what we grow can be found under Three Roods Farm at www.localharvest.org

This year we will offer classes on preparing meals from the foods we grow. CSA members will get a discount on these classes which will be called “Cooking with the Oldies”. Classes will cover everything from soups to salads, pickles to green smoothies. We will also have special happenings in the tipi. Look for more information in the coming weeks.

To reserve your share, we need a deposit. Contact Robin to discuss payment options. 810-793-2511 or rmallor@gmail.com.
